What a great idea! Congratulations to you and your students. I’ll definitely share this with our EAL team.

Awesome final project and video! Thanks for sharing. You incorporated so many aspects into this final project: citizenship, taking care of belongings, collaboration, reading, writing, creating. Fantastic! Congratulations to you and your students. You should all be proud of your learning. 🙂

Congratulations on a great final project and video! I really enjoyed watching it and hearing your story. I love how you incorporated so many aspects into this project: Creative Commons, citing sources, creating ebooks, not to mention the unit knowledge the students gained. Awesome! Thanks for sharing.

    Wow, Jayne!
Awesome final project and video! As Jessica mentioned, you faced so many constraints, and yet created a great learning experience for your students (and for you too!). You should be really proud of you and your students. Congratulations! Looking forward to staying in touch even though we’re “finished” with COETAIL. Hope we can…[Read more]

Congrats on your final project and video. I love the idea of redefining reading by using multi-touch iBooks. Your video is great inspiration for other teachers. I think you were too hard on yourself in your written reflection, as you did so many things right. 🙂

Congratulations on a great final project and video! You would never know it was the first time you made an iMovie. Great job. I really liked the way you structured the video and had students reflect on the project. I also really liked how you incorporated Presentation Zen principles.
    Thanks for sharing!

    Thanks, Jayne!
I thought the idea of multilingualism would be relevant to so many people in our international school community. The videos might be helpful to share with parents who ask you questions about the importance of the mother tongue, etc. RebelMouse is awesome. I was so excited when Tosca showed me how it works.
    I’m looking forward…[Read more]

    Hi Vivian,

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I’m glad that you like Rebel Mouse…I think it’s an awesome idea. Basically, it brings together all of your social networks into one nicely looking page that you can then embed on a blog or a site. I love it…it puts everything in one place. Check it out…it’s great!

    Cheers,

    Beth

  • ThumbnailI’ve been sitting at my laptop staring at the keyboard for the last few minutes.  Not sure where to start.  Wondering how that can be…this is it!  My final project post!  Almost two years since I started […]

    • Wow Beth, love it! You have been really busy at NIST! I’m sure your project strikes a chord with many of us, not just as teachers but as parents living abroad with our multicultural and multilingual families. I’ve never heard of Rebel Mouse but am going to check it out. Off to go and fill out your COETAIL feedback form now 🙂

      • Thanks, Jayne!

I’m looking forward to viewing your project. I’ll be in touch soon!
BTW…are you coming to NIST for ELLSA? Registrations opened last week. 🙂

    • Thanks for telling me about Rebel Mouse. I will have to check it out. I guess it functions like a wiki but is better? I only figured out what a wiki was after I started Coetail and now it’s already passé?! ;p

It sounds like you’re enjoying your new school. That’s fab! Congratulations on making it to the end of Coetail.

    • Thanks Beth. Would love to come to ELLSA but too much on at school so I can’t this year. Hopefully I can make it to ELLSA #2. Let me know how it goes 🙂

    Hi Sophie,

Thanks for stopping by my blog, especially with little people attached to your legs or lap, as it would be in my case. It’s tricky to type over a little body, isn’t it? I’m breathed out a sigh of relief when I read your comment…it felt good to know that I’m not alone in feeling a bit disconnected from COETAIL. I wonder if this is…[Read more]

    • Gosh, your blog post resonates greatly with me. I took had to write an apology blog post for my lack of communication over the last couple of months. I think, despite using technology on a daily basis in many different ways, the sitting down and focusing on it is often hard to do. I think of the times I check my mails on my phone with one hand, whilst extracting a small toddler from my leg with the other. I attempted to write my blog post for COETAIL earlier and had not one but two small people crawl up onto my knee to see what is going on. Your final project sounds great and much like mine, seems to have organically grown over a period of time and seems much more natural than what we may have come up with previously before the world of COETAIL. Good luck for the final project!

I’m breathed out a sigh of relief when I read your comment…it felt good to know that I’m not alone in feeling a bit disconnected from COETAIL. I wonder if this is what happens by course 5? I also wonder if we’re being hard on ourselves. We are connected and we are active members of our PLN – isn’t that the point of COETAIL? Maybe it doesn’t all have to be COETAIL related at this stage?

I’m looking forward to checking out your final project. I’m about to post mine now (and do a little happy dance that I got through it!).

        Thanks again for stopping by!

        Beth

I’m going to be totally honest, I have been neglectful of this blog and COETAIL since my family and I moved to Thailand last March.  I have a thousand reasons for not being as […]

    • You can do it!

    • You have a great local network too at your new school so you have a lot of people both locally and globally that can and probably will support you in this. That’s what the network(s) are about. Always learning and always willing to help.

    • Adding to Jeff comment, you are and amazing addition to your new school and I am sooo happy to be on it. You are an inspiration¡ I am sure that once you start working on theat wonderful idea for your final project, the wheel will not stop. Can´t wait to read your final post with your final video¡
