    Ryan is there a document that has all of our Names, roles and contact details?

    We are supposed to be working collaboratively but it is hard to do when you aren’t sure how you match up with people as far as ES/MS/HS goes.

    I saw this video as well and thought how true of some schools and teachers. I have tried to spend my time in education being the risk-taker and “outside of the box” thinker and I hope that it shows in my students. I think that when we worry too much about falling in line with what is “normal” we risk student’s futures.

    Ryan, Question about the reading. In Week 2 it says read from the Flipboard magazine with no specific article mentioned, but on the Google Doc Syllabus it names specific articles. Which should we do?

    • @caryghart You can do both or just pick one. Information moves so fast that trying to keep the articles updated on the Syllabus and in the course was just crazy. So we moved to Flipboard where all the instructors add things that are relevant to that course. So you can read any article in the flipboard that you find interesting and then reflect on…[Read more]

    This are both great sounding plans! I have trialled Seesaw in G2 this year and fully adopted it in K and G3. I think the thing that I would do when I move it into other classrooms is to make sure that the teachers understand that they won’t be able to do everything at once.

    Jennifer as a Tech Integrationist I have to remind teachers of what your coach said all of the time. I think I spend as much time helping teachers set realistic tech expectations for projects as I do teaching new skills.

I have to admit, I think I projected some of my own anxiety onto their learning process.     Dan these are great samples of how depending on the piece of tech and the app that is being used might appear in different places on a SAMR model for a teacher. You yourself say that your history example wouldn’t fare well on a SAMR model, but with a small tweak you could move that easily further along.

Instead of the children taking their own photo and commenting on one artefact, I am going to have lots of artefacts out with the iPads open next to them on Explain Everything – the children can then move around the classroom and comment…[Read more]

    Kristen, I can sympathise. I am a bit of a lurker as well. I think that might be because I feel connected to colleagues at school. But online I retweet, reshare, pass on things but don’t usually create.

      Perhaps on some level it is a confidence issue for me. I do think that there is great knowledge to be taken from lurking, and I pass things along when I feel they will be beneficial to others.

      One day I hope to transition into a creator. For now, I will lay low.
