Ah, so glad to hear my words can make someone’s day! Let’s stay connected via Twitter and the world of connectivism.

Amazing post and documentary, Stephane. Having taught in China for 7 years and traveled through these parts, watching this video makes me nostalgic and touches my heart. I love how you engaged your students but also led by example by being a part of couleurs de Chine – these are powerful lessons. The fact that you can incorporate technology and…[Read more]

    • Dear Liz,
The kindness of your words made my day. I can feel by the tone of your comment that we probably have a lot in common. I hope we will have the opportunity to talk about your experience which seems very rich and meaningful.
      A bientôt j’espère 🙂
      Stéphane

I love the idea of students helping students, learning from each other, not just a singular teacher. I agree with you that that is powerful and quite frankly, a lifelong learning technique: Learn from those around you, finding a community that will continue to make each member better.

I wonder: Have you considered asking kids how their…[Read more]

I love this: “Rather, [parents] lack knowledge and proficiency and they fear what screens are doing to their child.” This is true, and I love this, too: “These new technologies and ways of communicating are here to stay. So, we need to be prepared.” I look forward to seeing what you create. I think parents truly need to engage with their kids,…[Read more]

Lurking is a fabulous start! And overthinking is the norm; everyone who gets started does it, so you’re in great company! I’m in the process of getting my school on board with Twitter; the teachers are excited at its potential, but everyone is taking it at his or her own pace. I love how you’ve condensed the Twitter survival skills in this…[Read more]

Don’t people skim anyway, regardless of the minutes recommended? I love theskimm for that reason… 😉

Facetiousness aside, I am curious, too – you raise the same questions in me. I wonder what my students would say?

Matt, this is beautiful. I love how you recorded this and shared it, too, and your first three lines? I empathize and couldn’t agree more. How could we be anything else but learners indeed? 🙂 Thank you for sharing.

This is great, Chris! I just tweeted this to Scott. I’m curious how he’d reply. What an empowering piece of response, Chris, for the sharer and students… and of course, educators AND parents. Thank you for such a thoughtful, helpful, personal, astute response.

    • Hello Elizabeth. Thank you very much for your kind words. Honestly, I have known about and followed Dr. McLeod for years. His presentation back in 2006/2007 in Edina was unforgettable. It was virtually like having a visionary on the scale of Steve Jobs talk talk with our faculty of some 750 people. He certainly speaks with great passion and brutal…[Read more]

“Reach out and touch someone” indeed! This is awesome. I am happy to hear that your year in Moscow is going well. 🙂 And I couldn’t agree more: “We are an international teaching community, and in order to remain innovative, we must be international communicators.” Thanks for sharing your journey, Andy!

“Students weren’t using it and let’s be honest, can you really blame them?”
I love this reflection and drive for you to create this visual. Teachers are often guilty of asking kids to do certain things that they don’t do themselves… we give them stuff that we ourselves would rather not look at… this is a great reminder for us to cha…[Read more]

“maybe our final project for COETAIL should just be considered one step of a continual journey towards perfecting our craft as teachers” – I couldn’t agree more. This blog really shows an amazing journey you’ve been on and the best part is that the journey is only going to get better! It certainly has been for me.

    Press strong, Susan! Be…[Read more]
