    Thanks Tanya!

Blogs are where it’s at! I even had a parent at Student Led Conferences tell me that after each weekend he had his sons write a journal about their weekend and he asked how to make it more meaningful- I said “start a family blog”!!

Thanks for taking the time to message-

    Thanks Wendy…

I really appreciate the comments and reflection. Feeling alone in this journey can be easy, but the commenting and checking in on each other and supporting is key! Hopefully things go smoother next year. I’m even planning that when we come back after break we will talk more digital and I’ll take a step back again and re-assess…[Read more]

    Wow!!

What a cool project! I love it. I can’t wait to try using Adobe Spark- I had never even heard of it or played around on it. Super fun.

Will definitely continue following you and grow from your ideas.

    Thanks so much for sharing!

    • Hi NKS,
Thanks for your comments. Adobe Spark is an awesome tool for the children to share their learning. It is such an open platform that even 5-6 year olds can use independently. So good… Do you know how you will use it?
It has been a great to connect through COETAIL. I look forward to continuing to do so in the future.
      Good luck, Cheers,
      Joel

    Interesting!
I have always wanted to introduce Minecraft and dive in. Congratulations to you on your planning, organization and success!

I absolutely love that you did this with young students because it is so possible. I will share your project with our Grade 1’s and Lower School for inspiration. Thank you!

    • Hi,

Thank you so much for your comments. I was nervous about using Minecraft PE rather than MinecraftEdu, but it turned out to be such a creative and collaborative experience for the students. I will now be introducing to the whole grade and starting a Minecraft club in January. Please share around any of the resources if you think they will be…[Read more]

    What a wonderful project Magali!

What a thoughtfully and meaningfully organized project.

I would love to collaborate with other classes around the world. I tried to advertise it a little through Twitter, but I didn’t get too many takers (but that’s probably because of my short list of contacts). I’ll be sure to contact your friend, @Kacey_Molloy. Thank you!!

    • I’m glad it all came together! I really appreciate how you’ve shared your trials and tribulations because the truth is that this is how we roll at every school! It never goes smoothly! And rolling with the punches is where the really interesting work happens. AND I really like that you linked kindness (PYP – Caring) with digital citizenship. As usual reading and reaching out to the online community is giving me ideas about how to move forward at my own school.

    • Hi Nadine,
Great project. Thanks so much for sharing this with the world. I really enjoyed your video. It was so engaging and we really got a feel of being a part of it during your introduction.
Like you said sometimes you need to go back to go forward and your students are certainly going global with their connections. It is great to see students reflecting on their blogs and others. Children learn so much during these types of reflections and it such an important skill for the children to learn at a young age.
Thanks for taking us on your journey. Good luck in the future.
      Cheers, Joel

    • Hi Nadine,

I love this project. I think if we are going to ask students to think deeply, in a forum as public as a blog, we should always have them reflect on big picture issues like the power of kindness. Your organisation of this project is inspirational.

      Thank you! Tanya

    • hey nadine,
i really resonate with you on this one; for this being the 21st century with our digital learners, there are so many of them out there who have no clue about technology. although that’s where we come in and all, it takes time, and i appreciate that i’m not the only one who thinks, ‘well, i’m going to have to improve on that next year’. my pyp coordinator says it can take 5-7 years before the entire school become independent and capable digital researchers and learners, and that starts with simple basics like mapping skills in kindergarten. it’s a long road, and an honest one, and i think you’re on the right path. i look forward to being in touch – thank you so much for your raw honesty and beautiful video.
      best and warmest wishes,
      :)wendy f.

    • What I love about this post is that is shows all the different spaces we can build our PLN! I think it’s pretty normal to drop in and out of different communities and spaces…but there is value is nurturing connections with like-minded people. All the best.
